Skunks

Plantskydd is uniquely designed to keep herbivores like deer, rabbits and voles from eating your plants.

Skunks on the other hand are omnivores and enjoy a wide range of foods in their diet. They often prefer insects and small rodents but may venture into your garden for a meal.

Skunks are nocturnal animals and are easily identifiable by not only their appearance, black fur with a long white strip down their back and tail but also by their odor.

Plantskydd Animal Repellent repels by emitting an odor browsing animals (herbivores) associate with predator activity. Omnivores do not react the same as their senses and instincts differ from herbivores.

Did you know?

The spray, which comes from two glands near the base of the skunk’s tail, can hit a target 12 feet away.

Skunks can be nice to have around since they feed on the larvae of crop-destroying insects.

The best way to know if a skunk is in your garden is by its odor. You may also be able to identify their tracts, as skunks have five toes.

Plant damage – Skunks are known to enjoy the low-lying ears of corn or other vegetables.

Den damage – Skunks can cause damage to lawns and nearby plants when building their dens. Den openings range from 4 to 6 inches wide and will smell faintly like skunk.

Lawn digging – It’s typical for skunks to go searching for grubs creating holes about 2 inches wide scattered around your lawn.
